Revit Detail Levels

When switching through the Revit Detail Levels the following shapes are displayed:

  • Coarse Detail Level: an organic shape as the crown, with Instance Parameters that allow you to create duplicates with different Materials. Apply Planting Category Overrides to color just the crowns of all the Vegetation Models.
  • Medium Detail Level: displays just the trunks of the Planting Families.
  • Fine Detail Level: get Realistic, full-detailed 3D Models of your trees, plants, shrubs or hedges.

Norway Maple (Acer platanoides) Revit tree family

Large, deciduous tree native to Europe and western Asia. Mostly planted in urban areas for its dense shade and tolerance of pollution. It grows 12–18 meters tall with a broad, rounded crown. Features dark green, lobed leaves that turn yellow in fall. The tree produces small yellow-green flowers in early spring and pairs of winged seeds (samaras).

Common Dogwood (Cornus sanguinea) Revit tree family

Also known as European Dogwood, is a deciduous tree native to Europe and western Asia. Grows 2-5 meters tall and is valued for its variety. It has red stems in winter. In late spring it has creamy white flowers; dark purple berries in late summer. In fall, the foliage turns vibrant shades of red and purple. Also Hardy and adaptable, it thrives in full sun to partial shade. Mostly used in hedgerows, naturalized plantings, and for winter interest in gardens.

European Ash (Fraxinus excelsior) Revit tree family

It is a tall, deciduous tree native to Europe. Typically it reaches 18–30 meters in height. It has a straight trunk, arching branches, and pinnate leaves with 7–13 leaflets. In spring, it produces small, purplish flowers followed by winged seeds called keys. Fast-growing and tolerant of a range of soils. It’s commonly used for shade, timber, and landscape planting.

European Hornbeam (Carpinus betulus) Revit tree family

It is a medium to large deciduous tree native to Europe and western Asia. Gets to 12–18 meters tall. It features smooth, gray bark, dense oval-shaped crowns, and toothed, ovate leaves. The leaves turn yellow to orange in fall. Known for its hard, durable wood, it’s often used in hedging, formal gardens, and as a street or shade tree. The European Hornbeam is adaptable to various soils, and tolerates pruning well.

Prunus cerasifera Revit tree family

Also known as the Cherry Plum or Purple-Leaf Plum. Small deciduous tree or large shrub native to southeastern Europe and western Asia. It typically grows 5–7.5 meters tall. Prized for its early spring white to pale pink flowers and striking purple or red foliage. The tree produces small edible fruits resembling plums. It also thrives in full sun and well-drained soil. Mostly used as an ornamental specimen or in mixed borders.

Conceptual Organic Shape

In the Revit Coarse Detail Level these Planting Families show a Conceptual Form as the Crown. It accepts Category Overrides while the Trunk doesn’t. This allows you to apply color to the all Planting Crowns, keeping the Trunks in the original colors, with just a few clicks. You can also apply Overrides on individual Blocks or simply create duplicates with different colors by changing the Instance Material Parameter. Keep your Conceptual and Detailed Projects synchronized!
